You can provide the daily required amount of food by dividing into several small meals throughout the day. Suggestion of possible schedule: give 1 or 2 small meal in the morning, 1 at lunchtime and/or once back home, 1 or 2 in the evening). Prior to each feeding, simply add a few spoonful of warm water to each portion, and mix well to warm up each meal. Throw away wet food which has not been consumed within an hour after being offered.
FISH fillet may be weighted fresh or frozen, not battered. Preferably not to be given raw. The only way to avoid the risk of infestation by parasits and bacterial contamination is to cook it (boil or steam, to reach 70°C inside for 5 minutes). Freezing suppress the parasitism risk, but not the bacterial risk.
Each Vit'i5 Red contains a spoon, usable to measure Vit'i5 powder but also to measure the oil amount. If your animal has never consummed Vit'i5, start with a tiny amount each day, mixed with meat or fish, or even yogurt. Once accepted, increase progressively to the recommended amount. A mixt diet with meat/fish with no added mineral and vitamin mix is unbalanced and deficient, and induce long-term diseases. Vit'i5 Red brings calcium, trace-elements and vitamins, all essentials to the animal EVERY DAY along with meat of fish, even with dairy in the diet. Each jar contains a spoon : a 5 ml spoon (which contains about 4 grams of powder) in 250g jars, a 10 ml spoon (which contains about 8 grams of powder) in the 600g jar.
Rapeseed/Canola oil is rich in essential fatty acids omega 6 and omega 3 (olive oil contains almost none, sunflower and corn oil contain no omega 3), but must be neither cooked nor heated. It has to be mixed raw to the diet. Maintain the bottle in the fridge, protected from heat and light. Soybean oil can be used instead of rapeseed/Canola oil. Each day, a tenth of rapeseed/Canola oil may be be substituted by fish oil, in order to bring very long chain omega 3 fatty acids such as EPA and DHA. In that case, choose preferably caps or airless container to avoid oxidation of fish oil. Avoid cod liver oil, as it is also extremely rich in vitamins A and D, also essentials, but toxic when ingested in excess.
ZUCCHINI are especially poor in oxalic acid and low calorie, so if the amount appears too high, replace by PUMPKIN or Buttenut, or equivalent
instead, with half the indicated amount of ZUCCHINI, OR start with half the amount of ZUCCHINI indicated in the recipe, and increase if the
appetite is not fully satisfied. Add a few pinches of SALT if no ingredients of the recipe is canned.
Weight the daily amount once a day, and split the distribution in several meals. Keep the container in a dry and cool place. The bag, once opened must be consumed within 4 weeks to avoid oxydation of the kibbles.
CANNED/COMPLETE WET FOOD Brand/Product: weight the daily amount once a day, and split the distribution in several meals. Throw away the food not consumed after 2 hours in a bowl. Keep an opened container refrigerated. Add a spoon of warm water to the meal to warm it up at
each meal delivered. A container must be consumed within 24 hours after opening. Adjust the size of the container bought to the daily amount of food consumed by your pet.
Weight OLIVES strained and seedless !
If the transition to the new diet is not successful, if the daily amount of food is not fully consumed, or if the behavior of your animal appears strange, please consult your veterinarian with no delay.
If you give this diet for a long period of time (months, years), we kindly ask you:
If you have several pets, recipes created for one animal are adapted to its own characteristics). Except if all characteristics are similar, in general, even if several animals live in the same household, their nutrition requirements are different and it is less risky to ask for a recipe for each.
Substitution of ingrédients: even if ingredients or foods may seem similar or close, avoid substitution without control. It is highly preferable to ask for a recipe including new ingredients, in order to adjust the amounts and balance.
